Celebrate Founder's Day
January 22nd we celebrate our founder Susan, pluviophile and designer and avid urbanist. Her worldly, non conformist view can be attributed to moving ten times in five countries before she was 18. The one constant in her life was rain. The average rainfall of all the places she lived was a soaking 42", for comparison Dublin gets 26", Seattle 36".
Shaped by her unique experiences, acceptance of her personal rain cloud and her design background, she created a rain garment like no other, the modern high performance rain cape! It started with just one and has became a rainwear business, now in it's 15th year.
The celebration of this very Aquarius is a way that we, the staff, can roast our intrepid leader. Planning involves lots of long clandestine lunches and trying to dig up the most embarrassing photos, a hearing aid ad in Japan?? It also gives us an excuse to clear some shelves with a big sale.

Travel Companion
Traveled to Zurich & Vienna recently with the Urbanaut in tow due to rain in the forecast. The cape stood up to downpours and windy conditions while keeping me dry and cozy. I was impressed by the cape's weight, material, and windblocking ability. It certainly feels like a modern version of a Ashoka's cape. Also appreciate that it covers my personal bag from prying eyes. Definitely an upgrade from a typical rain jacket. What an amazing product and design!
